Waveloop is an Official Meta Tech Provider and an Official Meta Business Partner. Both titles come from Meta, the company behind Instagram. If you're about to connect your account to a DM tool, it's fair to ask what they mean for you. Here's the short version.
What the two titles are
A Tech Provider is a company that builds software on Meta's platform for other businesses to use. Before an app like Waveloop can work with other people's Instagram accounts, Meta reviews the business behind it and the permissions the app asks for.
Official Meta Business Partner is a separate title. Meta gives it to companies it works with to serve businesses on its platforms.
For you, both point to the same thing. Waveloop works with Instagram through the routes Meta built for businesses, under Meta's rules.
Why it matters for your account
Waveloop uses the official API
Every DM Waveloop sends goes through Instagram's official API. That's the channel Meta built for businesses to message people, and Meta sets the rules for it. Waveloop doesn't log in to your account as you, and it doesn't tap through the Instagram app on your behalf.
You connect with Instagram Login
You connect your account with Instagram Login. You sign in on Instagram's own screen and approve the access Waveloop asks for. Waveloop never sees your Instagram password.
You stay in control. You can remove Waveloop's access at any time from your Instagram settings.
Instagram's messaging rules are built in
Instagram has clear rules for how businesses can message people. Waveloop works inside them:
- 7 days for comments. A private reply to a comment has to be sent within 7 days of the comment. Each comment can get one private reply.
- 24 hours for conversations. When someone messages you, you can reply in that chat for 24 hours after their last message.
These limits shape how the product works. When someone comments your keyword, Waveloop sends your DM as a reply to that comment, inside the window. When someone DMs you a keyword, the reply goes back inside the 24 hours.
You need a professional account
The official API works with Instagram professional accounts, Business or Creator. If you have a personal account, switching is free in your Instagram settings.
What it doesn't mean
Being an official partner is about how Waveloop connects to Instagram. It doesn't change how Instagram treats your posts.
- No extra reach. Meta doesn't show your posts or reels to more people because you use Waveloop. Your content and how people respond to it still decide your reach.
- No guarantees. Nobody can promise that Instagram will never limit an account. Instagram's Community Guidelines apply to every message you send, automated or not.
- Rules can change. Meta updates its rules from time to time. When it does, Waveloop follows the new rules.
The best thing you can do for your account is simple. Send people what they asked for. Someone comments "GUIDE", they get your guide. Someone DMs "PRICE", they get your price list. Automation works best when every message is one the person wanted.
