Reconnect your Instagram. Instagram has ended Waveloop's login to your account, so your automations can't send. Reconnecting takes a minute, and nothing is lost.
Why it happens
Waveloop renews your Instagram login in the background. Instagram can still end it, for example after a password change or a security reset, or if Waveloop is removed from your account's connected apps. When that happens, we email you and your dashboard shows a Reconnect banner.
Reconnect in four steps
- Log in to Waveloop with the same account your Instagram was connected to.
- Click Reconnect on the dashboard banner. You can also open Connections and click Refresh Permissions.
- Log in to Instagram and approve access.
- You're back on your dashboard, and your automations are running again.
Your automations, keywords, contacts and history all stay in place.
What happens to comments you missed
They still get their DMs. After you reconnect, Waveloop goes back through the comments that came in while you were disconnected. Every comment that matched your keywords gets its DM, oldest first. Waveloop sends them in small batches to keep your account safe.
Instagram only allows a private reply to a comment within 7 days. Comments older than that can't be answered.
Still connected, but no DMs?
Check that Instagram lets Waveloop send messages:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone.
- Go to Settings and activity, then Messages and story replies.
- Open Message controls, then Connected tools.
- Turn on Allow access to messages.
Once it's on, Waveloop tries the DMs it couldn't send again, as long as they're still inside Instagram's 7-day window.
