Yes. You can always reply yourself in the Instagram app. Waveloop ignores messages you send, so your own replies never set off an automation.
What automations answer
Automations only respond to their own triggers:
- a comment with your keyword, for a comment automation
- a DM with your keyword, for a DM keyword automation
- a reply to your story, for a story reply automation
Everything else in your inbox is yours to answer.
Watch out for "any message"
A DM keyword automation set to Reply to any message answers every incoming DM, including ones in a chat you're handling yourself. It waits 5 minutes before answering the same person again, but in a long chat it will reply more than once.
Waveloop doesn't pause automations for a single conversation. To stop an automation, switch off Live.
Take over a chat
- Open the conversation in the Instagram app.
- Reply as you normally would.
- If a Reply to any message automation is running, switch it off while you chat, or change it to use keywords.
Use specific keywords, like PRICE or GUIDE. Everyday words in a normal conversation then won't set off an automation.
